As a Member of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, he is also concerned of the Compliance of the policy making of the Government and therefore he presented some exemplary writ petitions against the non compliant policy of the Government several times

Mr. Jafrul Hasan Sharif has over 15 years of experience, working in the field of corporate legal service, labor and human rights issues as a lawyer. He is an expert in resolving labor disputes, legal implication of human resource management, and labor compliance in the industries and legal aid, alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Sharif has a vast experience in dealing labor cases in the lower and upper Judiciary. He has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of projects on different rights based and labor issue based project.
Mr. Sharif also worked as senior staff lawyer of Bangladesh legal aid and services Trust (BLAST), where he was responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring legal aid, juvenile justice and alternative dispute resolution programs as well as dealing with court cases, counseling and ADR in the courts.
Currently Mr. Sharif is working as technical expert in labor policy reform committee of the government and drafted the National Labor Policy. He also worked for reviewing labor laws with the judges, lawyers, trade unions, civil society representatives. In addition, Mr. Sharif is a reputed resource person and experienced trainer on legal affairs, labor and industrial relations. He conducted training courses, workshops, seminars for government officials, corporate bodies, police officials, judges, lawyers and non-governmental organizations on human rights and legal issues, including labor issues, alternative dispute resolution and legal aid. Moreover, Mr. Sharif works with different government committees of the ministry of labor and employment as a standing committee member in reviewing labor law, labor policy and workers’ welfare issues.
In addition, Mr. Sharif also contributed for developing Human Resource Policy for the readymade garments industries of Bangladesh as a legal consultant of World Bank. He also contributed for developing social compliance training module for gtz. He also worked as a gtz consultant for developing social compliance standard for RMG industries in Bangladesh. He also contributed to conduct Bangladesh Labor Assessment for US Mission, prepared code of conduct and labor compliance documents for Shrimp Processing industries of Bangladesh as legal consultant of USAID.
